About The Position

The Baldwin Group is an award-winning insurance brokerage firm delivering expertly crafted Commercial Insurance and Risk Management, Private Insurance and Risk Management, Employee Benefits and Benefit Administration, Asset and Income Protection, and Risk Mitigation strategies. They are the 12th largest insurance broker in the USA and the 10th fastest growing. This is an outbound and inbound phone sales position with warm leads provided. The company will cover all licensing costs, including study time and a 60-hour online course for the Property & Casualty (20-44) license. The role offers a base salary plus commission, with a projected first-year earning of $60-70K, increasing with experience. This is an on-site position, with the possibility of remote status for high performers. The company offers a W-2 position with benefits and 401K, plus 45 shares of stock options as a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an amazing attitude.
  • Self-starter with the ability to influence others through effective verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn appropriate insurance company and firm software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers information and develops recommendations for prospective clients.
  • Presents proposals in a professional manner by reviewing coverages in detail to ensure understanding, while adhering to firm policies and procedures.
  • Communicates with clients, prospects, insurance company partners, and service team in an articulate and effective manner.
  • Finalizes the sale, coordinates collection of deposits, arranges for binders and certificates, and briefs the service team on the policy sale.
  • Maintains a concern for accuracy, timeliness and completion when interacting with current and prospective clients, the firm and insurance company partners to minimize potential for errors and omissions claims while demonstrating strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Maintains understanding and knowledge of insurance industry and underwriting criteria for insurance company partners represented by the firm to effectively communicate to all involved.
  • Expected to meet monthly new business goals.
  • Performs other functions as assigned by leadership.
  • Looks for opportunities to improve the firm, business segment, and processes.
  • Brings issues and discrepancies to the attention of appropriate leadership.
