About The Position

AWISCO is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Inside Sales Specialist to join our sales team. This position will serve as a primary point of contact for our customers while also providing day-to-day sales support to our Outside Sales team. The Inside Sales Specialist will be responsible for handling inbound and outbound sales calls and emails, responding to customer needs, preparing quotes, processing orders, following up on sales opportunities, and helping grow business within assigned accounts. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys building customer relationships, is comfortable working in a fast-paced sales environment, and can balance customer service with a proactive approach to sales. Because this is a remote position, the successful candidate must also be highly organized, responsive, and comfortable working independently while remaining closely connected with the broader sales and operations teams.

Requirements

Previous experience in inside sales, customer service, account management, sales support, or a related role is required.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain professional customer relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable communicating with customers throughout the day by phone and email.
Sales-minded approach with the ability to recognize opportunities and proactively follow up with customers.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple customers, requests, and priorities simultaneously.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail when preparing quotes and processing orders.
Ability to handle difficult customer situations professionally and courteously.
Comfortable learning product information and helping customers identify appropriate products or solutions.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to learn company-specific software and web-based applications.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with sales representatives and other departments.
High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

Experience working in industrial distribution, welding supplies, gases, manufacturing, construction, or a related industry is preferred.
college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day sales and customer service needs for customer accounts.
Respond promptly and professionally to customer calls and emails regarding products, pricing, availability, orders, deliveries, quotes, and other account needs.
Handle inbound sales inquiries and identify opportunities to recommend products and solutions based on customer needs.
Conduct outbound calls and follow-up with existing customers regarding quotes, open opportunities, product needs, and potential sales.
Prepare accurate and timely customer quotes and follow through on outstanding quotations to help convert opportunities into sales.
Enter and process customer orders accurately and coordinate with the appropriate teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
Develop strong relationships with customers and serve as a consistent point of contact for their sales and service needs.
Partner closely with Outside Sales Representatives to support their accounts, follow up on opportunities, prepare quotes, research products, and assist with customer requests.
Help identify opportunities to increase sales within existing accounts through proactive communication and an understanding of customer purchasing needs.
Provide customers with product information and assist with questions regarding product characteristics, capabilities, pricing, availability, and alternatives.
Research products and work with vendors or suppliers when additional technical information, pricing, or availability is needed.
Monitor open orders, quotes, and sales opportunities and proactively communicate updates to customers and sales team members.
Coordinate with Operations, Purchasing, Finance, and other internal departments to resolve customer issues and ensure orders are handled effectively.
Address customer concerns professionally and work with the appropriate internal teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate customer, order, quote, and sales information within company systems.
Participate in sales meetings, training, and other team activities as required.
Perform other sales and customer support responsibilities as needed.
