About The Position

Position Summary: Support the sales lifecycle and supply-chain lifecycle by entering and maintaining purchase orders in the ERP system. Manage inbound sales opportunities and attempt to close business and flip leads appropriately if not closed. Work cooperatively with current customers, outside sales and other members of the distribution team to maintain current customer base and pursue additional opportunities, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: Abide by IPP’s safety and Health Policies and Procedures including wearing proper PPE and maintaining a safe work environment. Understand the Mission Statement. Provide sound business judgment when interacting with each customer. This includes using independent discretion, creativeness, and quantitative analysis in handling each issue and especially when pricing material, taking into consideration customer, market pricing, quantity and type of material requested. Ensure customers satisfaction is exceeded through learning the technical aspects of our products and properly communicate these to the customer in a timely manner and according to customer needs, and bid dates. Address all phone and email inquiries in a timely manner to determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions. Work with supply-chain, production and inventory management software to accurately determine availability and delivery of product to customers. Determine price and availability for customer’s RFQs ensuring our material is available, competitively priced and with eye toward maximizing profit. Obtain shipping and freight pricing and estimated time of arrival from distribution manager. Review new purchase orders (POs) to ensure correct pricing, item codes, and freight terms and that the information is properly communicated to data entry position. Occasionally enter purchase orders into the sales software system correctly and accurately to ensure correct product, pricing, and shipment. Review order acknowledgement with customer purchase order ensuring customer information, Freight Company, shipment method, payment terms and product codes are correct prior to shipping. Follow up on quotes for product to provide additional information and close out outstanding quotes. Convey information to management regarding customer, needs, and tentative solutions in order to arrive at a quote. Resolve customer issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Cold call prospects as assigned. Non-Essential Functions: Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint to identify any trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service or sales experience.
  • For this position, you must be an exceptional listener with excellent time management, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • You must be self-motivated and competitive, but also a team player.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a high level of integrity are also essential.
  • Ability to provide sound business decisions and financial analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, time management, and prioritization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, management, and other departments.
  • Highly detail oriented to ensure that orders are issued correctly and quotes for prices are correct.
  • Knowledge of accessing and using the Internet, MS Office Suite, sales lifecycle management tools.
  • Ability to sense and relate observations to business opportunity.
  • Ability to work independently and with little oversight in a fast paced environment.
