About The Position

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service daily. You will welcome and advise in-store customers, perform related tasks such as order preparation and follow-up, and provide administrative and technical support to internal clients. You will also utilize creative customer service techniques, demonstrate an ability to source products, and maintain satisfactory inventory levels. The role requires communicating on multiple levels with external customers to increase counter sales through upselling and supporting the Branch Manager in obtaining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), safety goals, and an excellent net operating profit. Responsibilities include pre-calling customer orders, entering invoices into SAP, preparing credit notes, sorting documents, filing, processing telephone orders, actively soliciting new sales in store and via outgoing calls, maximizing counter sales, handling telephone inquiries, and receiving incoming hardgoods shipments from vendors and intercompany warehouses.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an inside sales or administrative experience preferably in an industrial environment
  • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent experience
  • Comfortable with computers with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Industrial sales skills
  • Ability to handle and lift goods up to 50 lbs
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the gas and/or welding industry
  • Knowledge of SAP software

Responsibilities

  • Maximize counter sales and handle telephone enquiries from customers or prospective customers
  • Receive incoming hardgoods shipments from vendors and intercompany warehouses
