About The Position

Some people sell shoes. Some people help customers finally walk without thinking about their feet all day. At KURU in Salt Lake City, Utah, we happen to do both. We're looking for an Inside Sales Representative who knows how to build trust, ask good questions, and guide customers toward the right solution. This role is heavily focused on SMS conversations, meaning your ability to communicate like a real human matters a lot more than sounding like a corporate chatbot that escaped from 2012. You'll connect with customers who are actively considering a purchase, help past customers discover new products they'll love, and work closely with a growing brand focused on helping people move comfortably again. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, retail, customer service, or another customer-facing role
  • Proven experience hitting goals or performance targets
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Comfort with technology, CRM systems, and e-commerce tools
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • You genuinely enjoy helping people
  • You're comfortable juggling multiple conversations at once
  • You can write clearly, professionally, and naturally
  • You know how to guide a sale without sounding pushy
  • You're curious and solutions-oriented
  • You're motivated by goals and performance metrics
  • You can work independently without needing someone to hold your hand every 14 minutes

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound SMS conversations from customers considering a purchase
  • Help customers choose the right shoe based on their lifestyle, foot pain, fit preferences, and activity level
  • Follow up with past customers about new arrivals, seasonal launches, and reorder opportunities
  • Build trust through consultative conversations - ask questions first, recommend second
  • Hit performance goals including conversion rate, average order value, and repeat purchases
  • Spot trends and customer pain points and share insights with the broader team
  • Maintain organized CRM notes so customers don't have to explain their life story twice
  • Partner with marketing and CX to keep messaging aligned and on-brand
