About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and technically-minded Inside Sales Representative to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for our distribution partners and end-users, helping them navigate our extensive product catalog to find the right conveyance solutions for their material handling needs. You will collaborate closely with our experienced engineering team to ensure our customers receive the highest quality, dependability, and value.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude required to understand and explain complex conveyance systems and components.
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, ERP systems and CRM software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and effectively
  • Commitment to our core values of Safety, Integrity, and Respect, with a collaborative and positive attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a sales or customer service role, inside sales role is strongly preferred
  • Experience understanding and reviewing technical drawings a plus.
  • Previous experience in material handling or conveyance systems is a significant plus, though not strictly required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for incoming sales inquiries, providing expert advice on Ashland Conveyor’s product lines, including gravity conveyors, powered systems, and various components.
  • Utilize your mechanical and technical aptitude to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate conveyance solutions.
  • Prepare accurate quotes, process orders, and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure timely, competitive responses aligned with pricing strategy, lead times, and operational capacity.
  • Work seamlessly with our engineering and manufacturing teams to address complex customer needs and custom configurations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distribution partners and direct customers, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
  • Research and identify potential clients within the targeted market segment
  • Qualify leads based on their potential need for conveyor equipment, components, and accessories, as well as their purchasing power and timeline
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand the sales process and product offerings
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align outreach strategies with broader marketing campaigns
  • Report regularly to sales management on activity outcomes and insights gathered from interactions with prospects
  • Utilize ERP system to add new customers, notes, and schedule follow-up tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
