About The Position

The Inside Sales Representative – Plumbing is a customer-focused sales professional who supports plumbing contractors and customers through knowledgeable phone-based service and product guidance, with a primary emphasis on plumbing products, materials, and applications. This role is responsible for building strong customer relationships, identifying customer needs, and recommending plumbing solutions that support successful residential and light commercial projects. HVAC experience is welcomed and considered a plus; plumbing knowledge and interest are the primary focus of this role. Through collaboration, industry expertise, and a commitment to service, this position contributes to sales growth. This is a full-time position based at our Meriden, CT branch, located at 300 Research Parkway.

Requirements

  • Previous counter or inside sales experience in the plumbing distribution industry required.
  • Familiarity with industry rules, regulations, and product standards within plumbing; HVAC knowledge is a plus.
  • Results-driven mindset with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and relationship building.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by providing professional, timely, and accurate support to customers primarily over the phone.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously, addressing plumbing and HVAC product inquiries, pricing, availability, and order status.
  • Accurately enter and process customer orders while ensuring all details meet company standards and procedures.
  • Actively listen to customers to understand their needs, ask thoughtful questions, and recommend appropriate plumbing and HVAC products, with a primary focus on plumbing solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for additional sales by suggesting related or complementary plumbing and HVAC materials or system components that enhance the customer’s project.
  • Follow up on leads and customer inquiries via phone and email in a timely and professional manner.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication, reliability, and solutions-based service.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met and to connect potential accounts with the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of plumbing products and applications; familiarity with HVAC products is beneficial.
  • Determine product pricing in accordance with company procedures and maintain confidentiality of pricing information.
  • Meet or exceed established sales goals and performance objectives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
