Position Summary: The Inside Sales Manager – Grocery serves as the strategic owner of key customer relationships within a defined market segment, responsible for driving sustained revenue growth and long-term account value for Retail Space Solutions and Trade Fixtures. This role partners closely with Outside Sales and cross-functional teams to identify and develop new business opportunities, guide complex retail and custom fixture projects from concept through execution, and ensure alignment between customer needs and internal capabilities. The Inside Sales Manager acts as a central point of coordination and communication, maintaining strong visibility into account performance, project health, and forecasting, while promoting operational excellence and continuous improvement. Success in this role is measured by the ability to build trusted customer partnerships, deliver consistent results against financial targets, and elevate the overall customer experience through proactive engagement and disciplined execution.

Requirements

  • Education – BS/BA Undergraduate degree from an accredited university
  • Experience – 5+ years of related business experience in outside sales, inside sales, project management, retail, marketing, agency, or operations
  • B2B sales experience
  • Familiarity with sales and purchasing cycles as they relate to grocery, mass and/or c-store retail environments.
  • Prior success in managing multiple complex projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communicator via e-mail, phone
  • Demonstrated success in leading and influencing others without direct authority at all levels with internal staff and external clients
  • Ability to think quickly and make courageous decisions based on facts and prior experiences.
  • Strong understanding of retail environments, consumers, and customer service.
  • Computer Skills – Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Other Requirements – Up to 10% travel may be needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and generate residual sales for specific existing Retail Space Solutions and/or Trade Fixtures customers within a defined market segment with accountability to achieve/exceed the segment’s annual sales budget (quota)
  • Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts to retain a client-inside sales manager relationship by up-selling and cross-selling including outbound prospect qualification and account research and inbound prospect qualification and follow-up
  • Meet customers face to face occasionally in-person with Outside Sales for key projects 1x/year with “80” customers
  • Work closely with sales team to qualify new leads and close sales
  • Maintain use of customer CRM database ensuring accuracy and integrity
  • Attain customer satisfaction and maintain positive customer relations
  • Manage and solve conflicts with clients. The Inside Sales Manager is expected to have specific information regarding daily operations of Retail Space Solutions/Trade Fixtures and to keep the customer key contacts updated
  • Interact and coordinate with their respective Outside Sales overlap and other cross-functional staff members regarding the needs of the customer to handle multiple complex retail product and custom projects as the interface between Retail Space Solutions/Trade Fixtures and our retailer customers, distributors, (e-) retailers and brand clients
  • Collaborate with outside sales to develop annual customer budgets, and monthly forecasts
  • Manage internal and external communications to satisfy the requirements of and resolve issues with project stakeholders
  • Report on project risk, status, and other project-specific metrics
  • Facilitate meetings, influences others, and ensure consensus and detailed communication on results
  • Practice and apply Continuous Improvement principles in all projects and solutions
