About The Position

Big C Lumber is growing in Fort Wayne, and we’re looking for an Inside Sales Associate to join our team! We are currently building a brand-new Big C Lumber facility near the US 30 and I-69 interchange, giving you the opportunity to join our team as we expand our presence in the Fort Wayne market. This is an exciting time to become part of Big C Lumber and help us build something new in the community! This is a full-time, day-shift position with benefits. The ideal candidate enjoys working with customers, solving problems, and being part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

Building material knowledge or experience preferred
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software
Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to accurately handle cash, make change, and process credit card transactions
Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently while also being a dependable team member
Willingness and ability to learn Big C Lumber’s products, processes, and in-house software

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of post-frame construction is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

Assist professional builders, remodelers, and do-it-yourself customers with building material sales
Assist customers with product selection, questions, and special orders
Prepare and assist with customer quotes
Coordinate and schedule deliveries
Maintain accurate shelf tags and inventory levels
Process cash and credit card transactions
Pull and prepare store items for customer deliveries
Communicate clearly, accurately, and professionally with customers, coworkers, and management
Assist with day-to-day operations of the store and sales counter
Complete special assignments and projects as directed by the General Manager
