About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Inside Plant (ISP) Fiber Optic Engineer to support the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of fiber optic pathways and passive connectivity infrastructure for high-tech, mission-critical, and technology-intensive clients and facilities. The role focuses on physical infrastructure that enables reliable, scalable, and resilient fiber connectivity within buildings and across complex campuses. Responsibilities span inside plant pathways, fiber cabling, telecommunications spaces, racks and cabinets, fiber distribution and termination systems, and the transition between outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) infrastructure. Projects may include hyperscale and cloud infrastructure, advanced manufacturing and semiconductor facilities, research and technology campuses, telecommunications facilities, mission-critical environments, and other large-scale technology-intensive programs. The engineer will consider the complete physical connectivity path, from where outside plant infrastructure enters a facility to telecommunications and distribution spaces and the passive interface with network and technology equipment. The role requires practical knowledge of how fiber infrastructure is planned, designed, coordinated, installed, tested, documented, and maintained. The engineer will work with multidisciplinary design teams to develop solutions addressing pathway capacity, route diversity, resiliency, constructability, maintainability, scalability, and future expansion. The position is remote and may be based in various U.S. locations where AECOM has an office. AECOM requires newly hired employees to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office. Relocation is not available.
