Requirements

General knowledge about ships and machinery
Ability to align and secure holding fixtures, cutting fixtures, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
Ability to read micrometers with low tolerance
Ability to run all inside shop equipment in an accurate and timely manner
Ability to prepare written mechanical evaluations
Ability to read and work from blueprints
Ability to pass a drug test
Have basic hand tools

Nice To Haves

3 years of machining experience

Responsibilities

Assembly, installation, modification, and repair of various ship machinery and systems.
Set up, service, repair, align, and test machines that operate on a mechanical and electro-mechanical basis.
Utilize tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to repair machine parts to manufacturer specifications.
Recommend changes related to the efficiency of setup and production after evaluating procedures.
