University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is dedicated to offering intensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults, alongside detox and substance abuse programs for adults. This mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to help individuals achieve more productive and fulfilling lives. Located on a 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, the center has 112 licensed beds. The facility is seeking qualified professionals with an active and clear license in Florida, requiring previous experience in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program. The Program Therapist performs social services functions, assisting patients with biopsychosocial needs and enabling them to access therapeutic treatment to reach optimal emotional health. This includes providing consultation, teaching, specialized clinical social work services for individuals/families, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, group therapy, information and referrals, and individual therapy when ordered by a medical doctor. The role involves a variety of psychotherapeutic services (group, family, individual) for patients in a psychiatric hospital setting presenting with co-occurring disorders, psychiatric disorders, substance abuse disorders, and other behavioral disorders. Social services, including discharge planning, are also a key component. This is a Per-Diem position within the Clinical Services Department.
