About The Position
Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is a freestanding, 122-bed facility specializing in general adult psychiatric care, adolescents, geriatrics, and women's services. Located in Southwest Houston, it offers convenient access to major shopping districts and the Houston Medical Center. The hospital is seeking dedicated and talented Therapists (LMSW/LCSW/LPC/LPC-A/LPC-S) to provide therapeutic services to patients. Requirements
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills
- Must have strong clinical assessment skills
- Possess licensure in the State of Texas as a LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPC-A, or LPC-S
- Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care certification (certifications may be obtained during orientation)
Responsibilities
- Interviewing patients and developing the psychological history
- Assessing the therapeutic needs of the patient and family
- Provide counseling sessions for families, individuals, and groups
- Developing appropriate treatment objectives
- Preparing monthly treatment summaries
- Act as the patients' and families' primary contact during the patient's stay at the facility
- Serve as patient advocate with the treatment team
- Liaise with outside agencies and individuals to develop and coordinate discharge planning with the treatment team and the patient’s family
