About The Position

This role is a Student Nurse Technician (SNT) position intended for individuals currently enrolled in a nursing program, providing opportunities to gain hands-on clinical experience while delivering patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The Inpatient Surgical floor at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is a 68-bed unit providing treatment interventions to primarily post-surgical patients. This unit also includes has a 10-bed Surgical Complex wing.

Requirements

• Enrollment in an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program
• Completion of at least one (1) semester of fundamentals with a medical-surgical clinical component
• Enrolled-accredited RN program

Responsibilities

• Assists nurse with patient and family education.
• Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology.
• Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
• Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
