About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Registered Nurse to join our NEW Community Hospital's Night Shift Patient Care Team. In this role, you will provide patient care in the emergency care setting, reflecting initiative, flexibility, and responsibility with minimal supervision. Our modern facility includes full-spectrum Med Lab, Radiology, and Pharmacy support, with in-house Respiratory Therapist coverage.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a hospital setting.
  • Current AZ Nursing License.
  • Current CPR and ACLS required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good organization habits.
  • Ability to care for patients from adult to geriatric patients.
  • Excellent teaching skills.
  • Basic knowledge of continuous quality improvement ideology.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • EHR Documentation via EPOWERdoc.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Current ACLS Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Telemetry/ICU experience preferred.
  • PALS preferred.
  • Current PALS Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Implement all physician orders.
  • Provide for the continuity and quality nursing care for all patients.
  • Continually evaluate patients' condition.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
  • Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, and consult with other specialists as required.
  • Adjust nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Communicate with physicians about changes in patient's status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
  • Maintain awareness of current policies and procedures impacting responsibilities.
  • Perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
  • Assess and reassess pain, utilize appropriate pain management techniques, and educate the patient and family regarding pain management.
  • Monitor hemodynamic status of patients and correctly interpret the results.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring to identify dysrhythmias.
  • Perform waived testing (point-of-care testing) per Clinical Laboratory’s and according to patient care unit’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age and clinical condition.
  • Maintain accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessment of changes.
  • Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Interact professionally with patients and families and involve them in the plan of care.
  • Formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning, including family as appropriate.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards.
  • Demonstrate the values of a team concept on a consistent basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
