About The Position

The Registered Dietitian Clinical facilitates the nutrition care process to provide individuals with quality medical nutrition therapy for common disease states and/or to promote optimal wellness. This position can be hired as a Registered Dietitian Clinical or Registered Dietitian Clinical Specialist based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. The role involves completing and documenting nutrition assessments, interpreting lab values, identifying and documenting nutrition diagnoses, and implementing appropriate nutrition interventions. The dietitian will monitor and evaluate nutrition outcomes, communicate expertise with healthcare providers, and collaborate with other dietitians. They will also support nutrition care across the healthcare continuum, participate in department continuous improvement projects, and have order writing privileges per policy/protocol.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or registration eligible.
  • Completion of an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics, Dietetic Internship, Coordinated Program, or graduate-level competency-based dietitian nutritionist program.
  • State licensure or certification in accordance with the primary state of practice requirement for Registered Dietitians. If the primary state of practice requires licensure or certification, this must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in clinical dietetics, preferred.
  • For graduates after Jan 1, 2024, completion of a minimum of a master’s degree by an accredited university.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the Nutrition Care Process in multiple patient populations and/or disease types.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply evidence-based research to clinical practice.
  • 2 or more years of dietetics experience in a clinical setting, preferred.
  • Experience in managing patients in a specialty area, preferred.
  • Relevant dietetics-related specialty practice credential (CNSC, CSP, CDCES, CSO, CSR, CSOWM, etc.), preferred

Responsibilities

  • Completes and documents nutrition assessment.
