Santa Rosa Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (SRBHH), formerly Aurora Santa Rosa Hospital, opened in 2016 and is a key part of the mental health system of care in Northern California. Located in the North Bay, this acute psychiatric inpatient facility has 144 beds and serves adolescents and adults with mental health conditions and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse issues. The Inpatient Psychiatric RN's primary responsibility is to provide high-quality, safe care to psychiatric inpatients in an acute locked hospital setting. This role involves direct patient care, coordinating other nursing personnel, and planning and implementing individual nursing care plans and the multidisciplinary treatment plan (MDTP). The RN must adhere to SRBHH's mission, vision, and values, as well as all hospital policies and procedures. They must also understand the regulations governing acute psychiatric hospital services and ensure their team meets all requirements. Maintaining knowledge of and training in occupational health hazards, such as bloodborne pathogen exposures, is also crucial.
