Mercy Health has opportunities for inpatient, outpatient, and mobile phlebotomists. This part-time, first-shift position has varying hours, most likely Monday through Friday from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m., with work every third weekend. The first month or so consists of full-time training on the assigned shift. The role may require working at different locations as needed. Working in a single assigned work area, the Phlebotomist/Registration employee provides specimen collection, registration, and processing services for patients at the main hospital, outpatient lab draw stations, and off-site mental health and skilled nursing facilities. The work is high volume, with approximately half of duties involving computer use, data entry, and registration, and targets to meet. The position also provides clerical support to the Pathology Department and performs other duties as assigned. In the main hospital, the inpatient phlebotomist serves inpatients and processes and registers samples received from physician offices for testing. Outpatient Health Park phlebotomists may work at any outpatient draw station around Grand Rapids and must float to health parks as needed. Mobile phlebotomists travel daily among nursing homes, corporate entities, and residential facilities. Mercy Health describes its mission as serving together in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within communities. It is an equal opportunity employer and states that qualified applicants receive consideration without regard to protected characteristics.
