About The Position

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Technician II to join their supportive and collaborative pharmacy team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide medications to a diverse patient population while supporting safe and efficient pharmacy operations. Responsibilities include sterile and non-sterile compounding, medication preparation and distribution, and working closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 2, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, prepares medication orders, and assists in dispensing & transporting medications. This position also conducts sterile and/or non-sterile compounding, uses various automated/electronic systems and maintains the required documentation & records.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• <2 years experience
• No Supervisor Experience
• State Bd Pharm Registration
• Pharmacy Tech Certification

Nice To Haves

• Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician
• 2-5 years experience

Responsibilities

• Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.
• Assists in the preparation of medication orders, to include workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
• Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
• Supports various inventory activities, to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
• Pursues proficiency in compounding sterile preparations and/or other advanced skills.
