About The Position

The Inpatient Pharmacy Allied Health Student performs all accountabilities under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. This role involves obtaining, verifying, and distributing medications to patient care units, ordering medications from suppliers, and preparing parenteral products. The student is also responsible for maintaining medication inventory, assisting with data reports and analysis, and consistently providing service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program or an allied health program.
  • Must meet one (1) of the following licensure/certification requirements: Registered as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, Registered as a Pharmacy Intern, Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).

Responsibilities

  • Perform all accountabilities under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
  • Obtain and verify medications for distribution to the patient care units.
  • Distribute medications to the patient care units.
  • Order medications from various suppliers.
  • Prepare parenteral products.
  • Maintain the medication inventory, place orders in stock.
  • Perform other duties as directed/requested.
  • Prepare data reports assisting in data analysis upon request.
  • Consistently provide service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.
