About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a nurse practitioner or physician for its new residential treatment facility in Norfolk, Virginia. The role provides medical care to clients receiving substance use and alcohol treatment, including individualized treatment planning, medical monitoring, and medication management. The provider coordinates care with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams and maintains documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a medical field and related certifications.
• Valid state medical license (PMHNP, FNP, or PA-C).
• Federal DEA certification.
• Acute observational and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong collaborative and multitasking skills.

Nice To Haves

• 3–5 years of experience in a related clinical setting, such as substance use disorder, psychiatry, or mental health.

Responsibilities

• Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management for each client throughout treatment.
• Provide quality medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to fully engage in treatment.
• Update pharmacy orders; create UDS, medication, and laboratory orders; and review and address UDS and laboratory results.
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
• Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
