About The Position

Provides leadership and management to inpatient departments. Collaborates with the Tahlequah Campus Nurse Manager, Senior Director of Nursing, and the Medical Directors to provide leadership, direction, organization, and general management of all aspects of patient care and departmental functions. Ensures availability for emergencies in person, electronically, by phone, or by a qualified delegate 24 hours a day.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a 4-year college or university; no substitutions.
At least four (4) years of experience in a related field.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
Must possess and maintain a license as a Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing, or a multi-state license accepted by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing, no substitutions.
Must maintain license throughout employment.
Must be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and maintain throughout employment. Can be obtained during orientation.
Must be certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and maintain throughout employment. If not certified, ACLS certification must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
All Departments, except for the Obstetrical Department, must be certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and maintained throughout employment. If not certified, PALS certification must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
Obstetrical Department – Must be certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and maintain throughout employment. Can be obtained during orientation.
Must be certified in the National Institutes of Health and Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and maintain throughout employment. If not certified, NIHSS must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
An individual should know Database software, Department Software, Internet Software, Human Resource Software, Payroll systems, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Maintains HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times and protects all personal health information as it relates to patient data.
Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.
