Job Summary Working under the general direction of a collaborating physician, the advanced practice clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) provides direct care to patients in a high-volume clinical service. The APP develops, implements, and evaluates a program of specialized health care for a select patient population with cardiac arrhythmia. The APP will be intimately involved in direct care and education of patients and should have experience working with arrhythmias and cardiac devices, such as implantable cardiac defibrillators, implantable loop recorders, and pacemakers. The APP promotes a collaborative relationship among various health care professionals toward continuity of patient care and efficient use of resources. The APP serves as a role model for professional medical practice in the management of patients with cardiovascular disease.
