TDDC - Richmond is seeking a Per Diem Inpatient Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Job Description: Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations for GI consults, admissions, and follow-up encounters at the hospital. Evaluate and manage patients with acute GI bleeding, pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease flares, bowel obstruction, and other urgent GI presentations. Develop, implement, and adjust evidence-based plans of care in collaboration with supervising gastroenterologist and hospital teams. Counsel patient and family on health and disease Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic relevant to GI and hepatology conditions. Document encounters, order, and care plans clearly and efficiently in the electronic medical record, ensuring accurate handoffs and discharge summaries. Educate patients and families about diagnosis, procedures, medications, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up needs, supporting safe transition of care. Contribute to quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives related to GI

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
  • Current Texas State NP or PA license with eligibility for hospital privileges
  • For NP's Acute Care Certification is required
  • BLS and ACLS is required
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a collaborative practice model, manage multiple priorities in a high acuity environment, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care

  • Gastrointestinal experience preferred
