Inpatient LVN/LPT (SCP NUHW)
About The Position
Under general supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment, provides and assists in delivering nursing care for assigned patients, with primary behavioral health need focusing on the physiological aspects of patient care and functioning as a member of a nursing care team. Takes into account the need to integrate psychotherapeutic and medical nursing care practices in dealing with patients. In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors and principles defined by the Sutter Health organization, and specific departmental/organizational initiatives.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- PSYT-Psychiatric Technician OR LVN-Licensed Vocational Nurse
- 1 year recent relevant experience
- Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and interventions.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in an environment where patients and their families/representatives may be experiencing stress.
- Ability to work as a team.
