Requirements

• Must have excellent understanding of ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG methodology.
• High School Diploma
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Required Or Certified Coding Specialists - Physician-based (CCS-P) Required
• 3-5 Years Coding Experience Required
• 1-2 years Leadership Experience Required
• 1-2 years Outpatient Coding Experience Required
• 1-2 years Medical Billing Experience Required
• Knowledge of regulatory protocols. Required

Responsibilities

• Assists the Coding Manager in supervising, and coordinating daily operations of coding, monitoring work queues, including post initial coding to facilitate timely completion of encounters.
• Identify issues and escalate, perform root cause analysis and track for resolution.
• Perform regular training and education and serve as back up to QA Auditor to perform Quality Audits and post DRG reviews.
• Works closely with CDI and other Clinical departments to provide coding guidance.
• Assists with reconciling the time worked and scheduled PTO to appropriately schedule staffing.
