About The Position

Santa Rosa Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (SRBHH) is seeking an Inpatient Group Facilitator to conduct therapeutic, psychoeducational, and rehabilitative groups for acute psychiatric inpatients, serving both adults and adolescents. This role supports the interdisciplinary treatment team by providing evidence-based interventions to promote stabilization, coping skills, and discharge readiness. The facilitator practices sound clinical judgment, professionalism, and good clinical practice, while also supporting departmental needs and maintaining knowledge of potential occupational health hazards.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Counseling (MFT), Psychology, Certified Music Therapist, Certified Art Therapist, Certified Yoga Instructor, or a Bachelor's/Master's in Therapeutic Recreation (CTRS) or Occupational Therapy (OTR/L).
  • Two years of behavioral health experience and experience working with Severely Mentally Ill and Group Facilitation preferred.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required, or obtained within initial orientation period.
  • Verbal de-escalation and physical intervention program as approved by the CNO.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patients at all times.
  • Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with software and/or equipment (Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.)
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects, work relatively independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively as well as possessing the skills to lead, influence, and motivate others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead therapeutic, coping skills, relapse prevention, and psychoeducational groups
  • Chart patient participation, engagement, and progress towards treatment goals in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) within California Title 22 timeframes.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers to align group topics with patient treatment goals.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and utilize de-escalation techniques if patient agitation occurs.
  • Focus group interventions on symptom management and transition planning back into the community.
  • Comply with HIPAA and LPS guidelines.
  • Consistently carry out outlined job responsibilities while maintaining appropriate boundaries and professional demeanor.
  • Perform related duties, as requested.
