Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in hospital coding
  • Demonstrated knowledge of diagnosis-related group (DRG) regulations, as evidenced by a score of at least 90% on a coding test or six months of DRG coding with proven accuracy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of personal computers.

  • Inpatient coding, including Medicare inpatients
  • Demonstrated knowledge of diagnosis-related group (DRG) regulations
