About The Position

River Oaks Hospital is recruiting a Psychiatrist for their Inpatient Adult and Addiction Programs. River Oaks Hospital, located in the suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana is a 126-bed private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents, and children. Among our programs is The New Orleans Institute a nationally recognized trauma treatment program. For the past 40 years, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma based disorders, compulsive behaviors and eating disorders. The position is for a full-time, hospital-employed role with a Monday-Friday schedule. The practice setting is inpatient, serving patients aged 18 and older for general caseloads, and all ages for weekend call. The role involves conducting admission evaluations, developing treatment plans, and providing ongoing treatment follow-up. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential, as is completing patient documentation. The hospital is located in Harahan, LA, near New Orleans.

Requirements

Board Certified in General Psychiatry.
Board Certified in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine.
Must be comfortable treating both General Adult and Addiction caseloads.
Active LA license or ability to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

Conduct admission evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing treatment follow-up for child and adolescent patients.
Participate in daily treatment team meetings.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
Complete required patient documentation and notes in accordance with facility guidelines.
Admission evaluations, daily care of assigned patients in the programs, treatment team leadership and interaction with administrative and clinical staff.
