About The Position

The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is offering a competitive opportunity to serve as the Innovation & Strategic Initiatives Coordinator in the Chief of Staff Office. This position serves as a strategic lead responsible for advancing organizational excellence across the Agency. The Coordinator partners with agency leadership to align strategic priorities, drive continuous improvement initiatives, strengthen organizational performance, and foster a culture of operational innovation, accountability, and data-driven decision-making. The role involves identifying opportunities to streamline business processes, eliminate operational inefficiencies, and improve employee productivity by assessing agency-wide developmental needs and implementing targeted learning solutions. Responsibilities include the development, implementation, and monitoring of the agency’s strategic plan and workforce initiatives, facilitating cross-functional workgroups, designing and overseeing continuous quality improvement initiatives, and developing dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor workforce progress. The position also involves analyzing organizational trends, operational data, agency feedback, and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities, and monitoring progress toward strategic objectives while supporting organizational change management efforts through implementation strategies, communication plans, and engagement activities. This position has in-office requirements for attending external stakeholders’ meetings, training, and occasional conferences.

Requirements

  • Considerable experience within healthcare, Government or public sector organization.
  • Considerable experience serving as a project manager in government or complex organizations for Executive Leadership.
  • Considerable experience of strategic planning, business process improvement, and organizational change management for Executive Leadership.
  • Considerable experience analyzing complex agency cross-functional and operational issues and translating findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Considerable experience facilitation, communication, and presentation for Executive level professionals.
  • Considerable experience with computer software including Microsoft Office.
  • Considerable experience with interpreting and applying public federal and state laws/regulations.
  • Considerable experience in meeting deadlines.
  • Considerable experience managing internal/external stakeholder relationships and coordinating cross functional collaboration across multiple organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors progress toward strategic objectives and supports organizational change management efforts by developing implantation strategies, communication plans, and engagement activities.
