About The Position

Teaches non-core content subjects to elementary school student population, following standards-based curriculum.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required.
• Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
• Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
• Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Helps students develop interpersonal skills and problem-solving capabilities through group interaction and collaboration.
• Plans and organizes related programming throughout the year.
• Advises students to encourage and support student achievement.
• Monitors, supervises, and enforces rule of conduct and behavior of assigned students; reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy.
• Observes, evaluates, and records student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health; prepares student, attendance and activity reports as required by administrators.
• Prepares educational course outlines, objectives, and materials according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements; communicates to students clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects; and instructs students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods and technology and adjusting teaching style and method to meet student learning style.
• Establishes and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Prepares, administers, assigns, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software.
• Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve student behavioral and academic problems and coordinate instructional efforts.
• May participate in extra-duty activities such as coaching, tutoring, or summer programs, as outlined in the Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with Department of Labor regulations.
