In the Innovation Department, you’ll lead the design of human-technology systems that redefine healthcare experiences. The ideal candidate for the Innovation Human Factors Principal position is a visionary leader with deep expertise in human-centered design and human-technology interaction. They excel at applying design thinking to complex healthcare challenges, creating innovative solutions that balance functionality, empathy, and user experience. This individual thrives in ambiguity, demonstrates exceptional strategic thinking, and has a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in designing systems that transform patient care and institutional operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8 years in human-computer interaction, human factors, cognitive or experimental psychology or related field.
  • or 6 years in one of the above mentioned areas with preferred degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree
  • Human Center Design with applied experience evaluating, designing, and/or deploying AI-based systems
  • robotics experience
  • Human Factors experience evaluating human system interaction and identifying risks
  • experience with service blue prints, human machine models, journey/workflow mapping.
  • Predictive analytics / algorithmic decision tools experience
  • conversational AI or autonomous agent workflows
  • emerging technology problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and create human-machine experience models and holistic design systems.
  • Develop service blueprints, user stories, prototypes, and visual storytelling for complex healthcare environments.
  • Gather and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data for large-scale projects.
  • Drive systemic interventions by identifying patterns in human-machine hybrid environments.
  • Ensure design decisions across all project stages are empathetic to human needs and limitations.
  • Balance functional clarity with emotional impact in user experiences.
  • Use design-led thinking to create multi-channel ecosystems and future healthcare experiences.
  • Develop visually engaging narratives and involve stakeholders in the design process.
  • Solve complex problems using multiple approaches and tools.
  • Contribute to the Innovation Center’s strategic vision and evangelize innovation across the institution.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support departmental goals.
