About The Position

This role is for an innovative leader to design the next generation of world-class fulfillment centers and logistics systems globally. The position offers a high level of ownership in solving complex problems, focusing on designing systems that leverage groundbreaking automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and robotics. As a high-impact engineer, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to create high-quality, cost-effective solutions for fulfillment and distribution systems. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, from concept realization through design approval, serving as the primary technical contact for suppliers. Upon design completion and approval, you will hand-off projects to the Ops Engineering team and provide support to ensure successful installation, commissioning, and launch. Projects may include green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofits, encompassing highly automated fulfillment centers, cross-dock facilities, and transportation centers, with a mix of template-based and custom designs. You will work within a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment, engaging with a team of highly skilled engineers on high-impact, high-visibility projects, fostering continuous learning and growth.

Requirements

  • Experience in management of engineering design projects
  • Experience in engineering and estimating material handling and storage systems
  • Experience running SQL queries and data mining
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related work

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering (any domain) or foreign equivalent, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making
  • Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
  • Experience with design-in-safety
  • Experience with process design based on Lean Principles

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to design high quality, cost effective solutions for fulfillment and distribution systems
  • Own multiple projects simultaneously, from concept realization through design approval
  • Serve as the primary point of technical contact for suppliers for your projects
  • Support the Ops Engineering team to ensure that designed systems are successfully installed, commissioned and launched
