About The Position

This role involves designing next-generation fulfillment centers and logistics systems globally, with a high level of ownership in solving complex problems. The engineer will design systems leveraging automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and robotics. They will collaborate with internal and external teams to create high-quality, cost-effective solutions for fulfillment and distribution systems, owning multiple projects from concept to design approval. The role serves as the primary technical contact for suppliers and supports the Ops Engineering team during installation, commissioning, and launch of designed systems. Projects include green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofits, covering highly automated fulfillment centers, cross-dock facilities, and transportation centers, with a mix of template-based and custom designs. The team works in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment on hundreds of projects annually, offering challenges, learning opportunities, and high-impact, high-visibility projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in management of engineering design projects
  • Experience in engineering and estimating material handling and storage systems
  • Experience running SQL queries and data mining
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related work

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering (any domain) or foreign equivalent, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making
  • Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
  • Experience with design-in-safety
  • Experience with process design based on Lean Principles

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to design high quality, cost effective solutions for fulfillment and distribution systems.
  • Own multiple projects simultaneously, from concept realization through design approval.
  • Serve as the primary point of technical contact for suppliers for your projects.
  • Support the Ops Engineering team to ensure that the system you’ve designed is successfully installed, commissioned and launched.
