About The Position

The Inkjet Press Operator position is responsible for the accurate, high-volume production of mail on a high-speed inkjet printing press. This is a seasonal position with an anticipated duration of approximately 8 weeks, scheduled for 9 hour shifts. This position will primarily function as an inkjet press operator but will be asked to perform other duties when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Fast learner and self-motivated
  • Mechanical background; experience operating industrial or high-speed print equipment preferred
  • Be able to work effectively without supervision
  • Must be able to read and comprehend a work order/job ticket
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Basic math skills

Responsibilities

  • Operate a high-speed inkjet printing press on a daily basis, including press start-up, shutdown, and job changeovers
  • Be able to setup and run multiple jobs requiring different print files, paper stocks, and formats
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance to include printhead cleaning, ink system checks, belt cleaning, compressed air blow outs and sensor cleaning
  • Troubleshoot and make machine adjustments as needed to ensure maximum print quality and machine efficiency depending on various job requirements
  • Complete assigned work in date order or as specified by production leadership
  • Able to hit daily quantities in total pieces/total jobs completed per day
  • Monitor print quality, image placement, and barcode/OMR readability throughout the run, making adjustments as needed
  • Follow all operational and quality procedures
  • Be able to use computer software to log in, log out, and set up print verification/camera systems
  • Assist in other areas of production as needed
  • Conveys materials to or from storage or machines using hand jack, electric forklift or other devices
  • Load and unload materials on/off pallets, racks, and shelves by hand
  • General clean up and organization around the production area.
  • Be able to read, understand, and follow machine operation training manuals
