About The Position

The Ink Technician is responsible for preparing, blending, and managing inks, primers, and adhesives to support printing operations. This position requires expertise in color matching, formulation, and inventory management while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor / Ink/Prepress Supervisor. B/D Shift likely 5pm to 5am

Requirements

  • Proficiency in color matching and blending (must pass Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color Vision Test)
  • Knowledge of PRISM, SPEC, and X-RITE systems
  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Apps)
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Understanding of safety protocols
  • Strong communication skills
  • Time management and organizational abilities
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment
  • Drug screening required
  • Background check required
  • Must demonstrate Core Values
  • Must be in good standing with no disciplinary action or attendance issues
  • Must have performer or higher rating in last review

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and blend raw materials for ink, primer, and adhesive formulation
  • Formulate and tone colors for press runs
  • Maintain press ink supply and prepare materials for upcoming jobs
  • Manage ink inventory and related materials
  • Process returned inks and track solvent usage
  • Input data into PRISM system
  • Handle, store, and label hazardous materials
  • Support press changeovers
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area
  • Operate equipment including lift trucks and pallet jacks
  • Contribute to waste reduction initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Benefits

  • An additional $2.50/hr premium for hours worked on NIGHT Shift only (qualifying hours vary by location).
