We are seeking a dependable Production Employee to join our manufacturing team. This role offers hands-on training, a strong safety culture, and opportunities for career advancement. Once Ink Technician duties are completed for a shift, this role will be required to provide additional Press Support as needed.

Requirements

  • Willingness to work overtime, rotating shifts, and if needed, holidays and weekends.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction.
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
  • Incumbent regularly required to carry and lift up to 20 lbs unassisted.
  • Incumbent occasionally required to carry and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for the majority of shift – 2 hour increments.
  • Short distance walking required with rolls to be placed on shipping table.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.
  • Must be able to differentiate between color variance.
  • Incumbent constantly required to walk, stand, grasp, reach, push/pull, bend, stoop, twisting and use of manual dexterity for prolonged periods of time.
  • Incumbent regularly required to hear, speak, and use color vision.

Responsibilities

  • Assures ink color match meets customer requirements for all printed materials.
  • Performs color matches including formulating and entering software database.
  • Maintains ink and coatings inventory.
  • Manages ink equipment function, machine calibration, and maintenance.
  • Monitors ink usage and inventory.
  • Mixes and proofs formulas and ensures database storage of all ink recipes.
  • Creates color standards.
  • Makes sound operational decisions, embracing continuous improvement and implementing cost saving measures when applicable.
  • Provides training on basics of anilox rolls, ink chemistry, color theory, spectrophotometry, ink usage, and other ink/tooling related issues.
  • Reviews job specs and press run samples for accuracy and adherence to customer specific requests.
  • Troubleshoots ink and coating problems.
  • Reads and understands job jacket.
  • Uses the information on work instructions to ensure that all equipment needed is on set up the cart.
  • Mounts plates as required.
  • Performs machine wash up with the use of wash up cart following standard work procedures.
  • Performs machine make-ready to run proper production including removing and loading print cylinders, material, lamination, die, score, etc. following standard work.
  • Assists operators with setting up any auxiliary equipment.
  • Empties trash and rag containers as they become full.
  • Cuts cores using the core-cutting equipment.
  • Makes sure all equipment is returned to the preproduction area.
  • Requests stock from inventory clerk.
  • Removes finished rolls as needed.
  • Prepares stock for RTS.
  • Performs other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assists in other areas as needed or assigned.
  • Ensures that the press is maintained in safe working order at all times by making sure all guards and safety devices are in good condition and are properly used.
  • Report all unsafe conditions to shift supervisor either verbally or in writing.
  • Follows 6S requirements.
  • Works effectively with the prepress department and co-workers as it pertains to achieving customer satisfaction, cost control and timely performance of duties.
  • Look for and have input for implementing suggestions for producing work more efficiently.
