The Injection Operator performs a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of injection processes and is responsible for day-to-day operation of PET and HDPE injection equipment and auxiliary equipment. Niagara primarily purchases Husky equipment, as well as equipment from other OEMs. The operator prepares, sets up, starts, and runs injection equipment; performs minor adjustments when directed; completes production, destruction, and quality records; and conducts visual and mechanical quality checks. Mechanical work may not be performed without prior approval. The role includes maintaining production-area housekeeping, identifying resin types and parts suitable for grinding and reintroduction, recognizing and promptly reporting quality defects, and following plant safety requirements, including safe lifting and machine-operation practices and required PPE use. Operators may work across multiple production areas with minimal supervision, provide relief duties, troubleshoot minor equipment issues, and collaborate with maintenance as needed. They use manufacturing computer systems and understand line flow and processes to support throughput. Clear communication and regular, predictable attendance are essential. The position works 12-hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. Duties and responsibilities may change with or without prior notice.
