About The Position

The Injection Operator performs a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of injection processes and is responsible for the day-to-day operations associated with an array of PET and HDPE injection equipment and its auxiliary equipment. Niagara purchases primarily Husky, but also other OEMs. This role is responsible for the overall preparation, set-up, starting, and running of injection equipment, and can perform minor adjustments as directed (no mechanical work without prior approval). The operator is responsible for accurately completing and updating information forms and logs such as the Injection preform and/or cap daily log, destruction logs, and quality forms. They must be able to recognize unsafe conditions and actions and follow plant safety rules, including safe lifting practices and safe machine operations, using personal protective equipment where required. The role involves performing visual and mechanical quality checks to ensure production meets quality standards and maintaining general housekeeping in all production areas. The operator must be able to define the difference between Vpet, Rpet & HDPE resins and identify parts safe for grinding and reintroduction to the resin system. They must maintain quality requirements in accordance with company standards, accurately filling out inspection sheets based on overall production quality, and recognize and report all quality defects immediately. The position requires the ability to work in multiple areas of production with minimal supervision and perform relief duties when required. The operator should be able to troubleshoot minor production equipment issues in all areas and collaborate with the maintenance team as necessary. Understanding of computer systems such as Shotscope, Electirc80, Ignition, and others is required, as is comprehension of line flow and manufacturing processes to maximize throughput. The ability to communicate issues clearly and concisely is essential. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job. The role requires the ability to work 12-hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. Requirements

  • 2 Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
  • 2 Years – Experience in Position
  • Experience operating multiple manufacturing machines
  • High School Diploma or GED
