About The Position

The Injection Molding Technician is responsible for systematic problem solving and troubleshooting of molding and assembly equipment, utilizing strong mechanical aptitude, effective communication, and demonstrated leadership skills. This role involves changing molds, ensuring proper equipment hook-ups, performing basic machine and robot functions, checking and documenting machine settings, and adjusting processes for common defects. The technician will also program robots, document process parameters, investigate and resolve machine, robot, and product quality issues, and ensure product conformity to quality standards.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent, preferably with vocational education training in skilled trades or other related discipline
• Technical aptitude required
• 1+ year experience working with injection molding machine set-up and processing

Responsibilities

• Change molds in 500 to 1500 ton injection molding machines
• Ensure proper electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic hook up for tools
• Change robot end of arm tools
• Perform basic machine and robot functions related to tool changeovers
• Check and document machine settings
• Changeover and processing of injection molding machines
• Adjust process for common defects
• Program pick and place robots to remove parts from machines
• Document process set-up parameters
• Investigate and resolve machine and robot issues
• Investigate and resolve product quality issues
• Perform changeover within a specified time
• Maintain good housekeeping in line with our 5S principles
• Clean molds and repair tooling as necessary
• Ensure product conformity to quality standards upon start up
• Ensure fulfillment of HSE requirements
