About The Position

Aptar is seeking an Injection Molding Technician I (Set-Up) for their Eatontown, NJ location. This role reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring injection molding machines operate according to quality standards and production goals. The technician will also be responsible for adhering to safety and housekeeping procedures and promptly reporting any quality or scrap issues. This position is crucial for maintaining efficient operations and product quality within the injection molding department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1 – 3 years of injection molding experience as a Process Technician.
  • Intermediate knowledge of plastic injection mold set-up/processes and equipment including, molding machines, grinders, spru pickers, color blenders and loaders.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills on injection molding machines and support equipment.
  • Set up and start up ability on injection mold machines.
  • Basic computer skills in Word and Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP.
  • Basic reading, math and comprehension skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English in order to communicate and understand relevant information.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified in mold tech development program a plus.
  • Arburg and Krauss Maffei experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure injection-molding machines run to quality standards and meet all production goals.
  • Ensure all safety and housekeeping procedures are followed.
  • Report all quality and scrap issues to appropriate supervisor/Manager as soon as possible.
  • Ensure efficient operation of injection molding machines including, but not limited to, checking in process and finished parts for errors and promptly correcting part defects or problems upon identification.
  • Perform material handling functions including, but not limited to, dispensing resins from hoppers, accurately weighing and identifying material, organizing resins in staging areas, moving completed parts into staging areas.
  • Perform color changes and line clearance/purging with minimal supervision.
  • Safely mount and dismount molds.
  • Assemble and connect water hoses.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
