About The Position

As a Process Technician at IPL Schoeller, you will be responsible for overseeing the setup and operation of equipment, material use, labeling, and related activities on your assigned shift. This role involves managing molding machine setup, including ancillary equipment, and ensuring repeatable results by following and documenting process parameters. You will optimize molding processes to achieve quality parts and efficient cycle times, respond promptly to machine alarms, and develop and implement repeatable molding processes. Additionally, you will perform prescribed maintenance and repair operations on injection molding machines and related equipment, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions. This includes repairing/replacing components, assembling/disassembling molds, maintaining a spare parts inventory, and participating in the development of preventative maintenance procedures. You will also utilize troubleshooting skills to improve processes, manage work stoppages, investigate equipment deficiencies, and recommend improvements. Accurate record-keeping of time and production is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Experience in injection molding process technology.
  • Ability to adhere to safety precautions and use PPE.
  • Skills in equipment setup and operation.
  • Experience with mold installation and changes using a hoist crane.
  • Proficiency in managing molding machine setup and ancillary equipment.
  • Ability to follow and document process parameters.

  • Experience in developing and implementing repeatable molding processes.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all prescribed safety precautions and utilize personal protection equipment (PPE) as required. Promote a safe work environment.

  • Manage molding machine setup, including ancillary equipment.

  • Process molding parameters to achieve quality parts and optimized cycle times.
  • Respond promptly to machine alarms.
  • Develop and implement repeatable molding processes.
  • Carry out prescribed maintenance and repair operations on injection molding machines and related equipment.
  • Diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Repair/replace components, switches, sensors, etc.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and maintain molds and wire switches.
  • Maintain a required inventory of spare parts.
  • Participate in the development of preventative maintenance and standardized work procedures.
