About The Position
Novolex is a leading manufacturer of food, beverage, and specialty packaging that supports multiple industries including foodservice, restaurant delivery and carryout, food processing, grocery and retail, and industrial sectors. Novolex manufacturing and sourcing expertise spans a diverse range of substrates including resin, paper, molded fiber, aluminum and more. We provide customers a broad array of stock and customized solutions with 120 product categories, 250 brands and over 39,000 SKUs. A Molder is responsible for the start-up, shut down and troubleshooting of injection molding machinery to allow the manufacture of product that meets or exceeds the established quality levels at standard run rates. Molders also assist the maintenance department with troubleshooting problems with injection molding machines and related support equipment, including conveyors, stackers and automation.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen
- High School Diploma or equivalent with technical training
- Must be able to work overtime as required, including weekends
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal) and operate a computer in order to perform necessary documentation.
- This position requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing up and down stairs and ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working in a typical manufacturing environment with seasonal heat/cold and sound related to machine operation as well as maintenance and facility repair activities.
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the task at hand.
Nice To Haves
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience operating forklift equipment preferred
Responsibilities
- Work safely at all times, consistently following company safety policies and wearing required PPE. Maintain situational awareness on the production floor and notify a Supervisor or Manager immediately of safety concerns.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Once trained/certified, operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other machinery.
- Perform mold changes.
- Start up and shut down injection molding machines and associated equipment.
- Maintain cavitation (optimal use of each cavity on an injection molding tool) or freeze off cavities as needed or as directed to maintain production operations.
- Perform standard shift cleaning on production equipment and machinery.
- Troubleshoot injection molding machines, and escalate mold or maintenance issues to the appropriate teams in a prompt fashion to ensure continuity of operation.
- Thoroughly document standard processes and work performed in the facility’s maintenance tracking system to ensure communication across shifts.
- Satisfactorily complete training courses as determined by management.
- Other tasks as needed or as assigned.
