About The Position

As an Injection Molding Process/Setup Technician, you’ll play a key role in preparing molds, machines, and processes for all product changeovers and startups. Your work ensures a stable, high‑quality manufacturing process from the first part to the last. You will also provide troubleshooting support, maintain high safety and quality standards, and oversee mold and version changes efficiently and safely. You’ll be essential to keeping production running smoothly and supporting continuous improvement across the facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years in injection molding or a related industry
  • Experience with process/set‑up technician responsibilities required
  • Strong understanding of plastics materials
  • Ability to work effectively in a high‑volume, fast‑paced team environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Forklift certification
  • Crane operation certification
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Able to climb ladders, squat, kneel, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Able to lift/push/pull/maneuver up to 60 lbs
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Occasional domestic or international travel may be required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification preferred
  • Experience with large-tonnage machines is a plus
  • Experience with automation, robotics, and/or tool & die work is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Complete mold and version changeovers from the last good part of the previous run to the first good part of the next.
  • Support production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers to ensure production goals are met.
  • Prepare all tools and equipment needed for mold changes ahead of time.
  • Start up, adjust, and troubleshoot machines, molds, materials, and auxiliary equipment to keep them running within proper parameters.
  • Inspect and maintain mold-related equipment (water lines, clamps, etc.) and replace components as needed.
  • Notify your Manager or Lead when critical spare parts are used so inventory can be replenished.
  • Support root cause analysis and assist in resolving process deviations during production runs.
  • Monitor product quality by checking for visual defects including blemishes, discoloration, burn marks, or warping.
  • Report any potential quality concerns and collaborate with support teams on corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and always follow company safety policies.
  • Collect production and process data to support trending analysis and predictive/preventive maintenance.
  • Assist with ongoing improvement initiatives as directed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and business needs.
