About The Position

Injection Molding Process Technician (Thermoplastics) Step into a role where every shift starts with a purpose: keep our molding cells stable, productive, and in-spec. From the moment you arrive at 7:45am for our 7:45am–4:15pm schedule, you’ll review the master plan, align with the outgoing team, and set the tone for quality, safety, and throughput. A Day in the Life You’ll begin by scanning the production schedule and confirming each press is running the approved cycle sheet with the correct work order and resin queued. You’ll walk the floor to validate 5S, safety, and housekeeping, then lead mold setups and machine start‑ups, ensuring purge and line clearance procedures are followed exactly. With limit samples approved, you’ll verify standard cycles, allowable scrap, and work instructions are met—logging downtime and scrap codes promptly in IQMS. Throughout the day, you’ll inspect parts against specifications, direct machine adjustments, and coordinate priorities with technicians, material handlers, and leads. You’ll open and track maintenance/tooling work orders, schedule preventive mold cleaning, and document any process deviations—following the escalation path when processes trend out of range. As shift leader, you coach team leaders, cell leaders, operators, and materials personnel, modeling consistent policy application and fair discipline when needed. You’ll drive continuous improvement through Kaizen, Lean, one-piece flow, and root-cause problem solving—then hand off a concise status update to the next shift. What You’ll Own Assuring molding processes run to defined processing requirements and quality plans. Hands-on mold setup, start-up approvals (limit samples), and process troubleshooting. Planning daily production from the master schedule to hit safety, quality, and delivery targets. Meeting/exceeding shift KPIs: scrap, utilization, and standard adherence. Confirming approved cycle sheets/work orders at every work center; enforcing purge and line clearance. Verifying standard cycles and allowable scrap; entering downtime and scrap codes in IQMS on time. Inspecting product to spec and guiding machine adjustments for conformance. Coordinating technicians, materials, and leads for rapid troubleshooting and schedule support. Supporting start-up quality (limit samples, machine start-ups, addressing supervisor notices of quality defects, and resolving in-shift QC issues). Orchestrating tooling/equipment use, repairs, and PM; issuing and tracking work orders. Scheduling daily preventive mold cleaning across production presses. Training teams on 5S, quality standards, work instructions, SOPs, MRB, data capture/reporting, and floor dispositions. Documenting any process deviations and executing the escalation process. Leading shift-to-shift communication on production status, quality issues, and key directives. Fostering strong employee relations, consistent policy application, and a can‑do culture of accountability. Supporting Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
