About The Position

The Injection Molding Process Engineer will monitor and analyze molding process performance for continuous improvement opportunities, researching and implementing cost reduction and product reliability solutions. This role involves training Process Techs, Mold Setters, and Color Coordinators, and assisting in establishing process control limits and standard work instructions. The engineer will provide process information to support time studies and accounting, and develop/implement processing and tooling standards that promote SMED principles. Responsibilities also include assisting in layout, tooling design, and programming robotics for automated part removal and other post-molding operations. The position requires making recommendations and suggestions that promote continuous improvement, identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities, leading mold trials, PPAP submissions, and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ). Establishing and maintaining validated process parameters using a scientific molding approach, ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements, and troubleshooting molding defects are key duties. The role supports new product launches and APQP activities, drives continuous improvement to reduce scrap, cycle time, and downtime, performs root cause analysis and implements corrective actions (8D, CAPA), and collaborates with tooling teams on mold design, modifications, and maintenance.
