About The Position

This role focuses on motivating and directing Process Technicians, developing and maintaining process standards for part manufacturing, and resolving technical processing issues. The engineer will specify project management for new equipment, manage the exploration of new materials and processes for optimal quality and reliability, and work with tool shops for repairs and maintenance. Additionally, the role involves compiling data for budget preparation and cost reduction, and maintaining project documentation.

Requirements

  • 2-5 Minimum Years of Experience with Injection Molding with presses ranging from 85-3200 tons.
  • At least 2 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
  • Master-root cause troubleshooting with problem solving.
  • Experience with valve gate, hot runner systems, and scientific injection molding principals.
  • Desire to be hands on and overcome challenges that arise on a daily basis.
  • English (Fluency with Reading, Writing, Speaking)

  • RJG Master Molder 1 and Master Molder 2 training.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and provide direction to the Process Technicians ensuring appropriate directions, training, and evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain the process standards in which all parts are manufactured.
  • Review production and operating records and resolves technical processing issues.
  • Follow established action plans for processes out of range.
  • Specify project management and buy off of new equipment.
  • Manage exploration of new materials and processes in order to achieve the best quality, process, and reliability.
  • Motivate and train the mold setters, ensuring appropriate training and evaluation.
  • Verify and apply narrow ranges for optimum processes to meet customer expectations.

  • Compile data and analyse past and current information in order to assist in the preparation of the budget and reduce operational costs.
  • Work with tool shops for all tool repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain documentation closely, following necessary timelines on specific projects.

  • Understand, apply and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.
