The Injection Molding Operator II ensures that manufacturing procedures meet or exceed customer expectations and specification requirements. This role involves managing settings, conducting tests, and regulating manufacturing processes for flawless production runs. Operators are expected to meet all Injection Molding Machine Operator I expectations and will initially work on "front line machines" with automation, running two lines simultaneously. They should be able to transition between various molding machines and assembly lines within their assigned department and demonstrate an interest in learning machines in other departments. While initially focused on the two assigned lines for "front line machines," they are responsible for relieving co-workers for breaks to prevent downtime. This role requires consistent, independent completion of tasks such as building logos and resetting numbers, adherence to quality check procedures using Product Quality Sheets, and flawless execution of the First Piece Inspection process. Strong communication skills, the ability to contact leads and maintenance for intermediate issues, and a commitment to safety, including wearing required PPE and reporting safety concerns, are essential. The operator must work well with others, possess a team-oriented mindset, and perform regular job duties with minimal assistance. Additionally, they are responsible for communicating any issues that could impact on-time delivery and maintaining a clean and organized workstation according to 5S standards of Lean Manufacturing.
