About The Position

SyBridge Technologies is seeking an experienced Injection Mold Designer to join their Engineering team. This role involves designing complex injection molds using advanced 3D CAD software, collaborating with various departments, and delivering innovative tooling solutions for industry-leading customers. The ideal candidate is passionate about transforming product designs into world-class tooling and enjoys solving complex engineering challenges.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of injection mold design experience
  • Strong understanding of plastic injection mold construction and tooling principles
  • Experience designing complete 3D mold assemblies, including plates, actions, inserts, lifters, and related components
  • Proficiency with NX, CATIA, or other advanced 3D CAD software
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and develop practical tooling solutions
  • Experience supporting manufacturing and implementing engineering changes
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced engineering environment

Nice To Haves

  • CATIA experience is preferred
  • Training will be provided for candidates with strong assembly modeling experience in other CAD platforms
  • Basic surfacing experience is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Design complete plastic injection molds using advanced 3D CAD assembly modeling
  • Build and maintain detailed mold assemblies that meet customer and internal design standards
  • Create and release production-ready CAD files and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Support active tooling programs from initial design through manufacturing and final release
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Program Management, and Manufacturing to ensure designs are functional and manufacturable
  • Implement engineering changes and provide design support for shop-floor modifications
  • Present tooling concepts and design intent to internal teams and customers
  • Perform minor surfacing modifications, including insert updates and geometry revisions
  • Ensure designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards, and best practices
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
