This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner. The team member is required to assemble all required equipment for the grinding operation to include installing screws in the grinders and locking down the collars which requires moving a 450 pound screw and then installing the 50 pound grinder head and tightening it with a 20lb wrench. This operation has to be performed each time a teardown is required, normally 3 times a shift. This portion of the job demands a very physical approach. At the beginning of the shift all screw augers will have to be assembled and the auger covers which have to be installed are approximately 40lbs each. During the shift the operator will record all combo weights and total weights to communicate fills to supervisors and leads continuously through out the day. Operator will also monitor metal detection equipment and document results for Quality Assurance in shop tool software 3 times daily. Operator has to enter product codes and weights into HMI screen for batch documentation, while inspecting meat prior to the Initial Grinder by turning cuts of meat before grinding and visually inspecting for foreign objects. If a jam occurs the operator will clear jams on conveyor system with pitch fork by removing meat from behind the metal detector and plow as needed. Operators will also assist with LBT grinding and dumping as needed for breaks or during absenteeism which consist of removing cardboard box from frozen trim and LBT and dumping the 60 lb blocks, 23 times per batch for LBT and 70 lb blocks of trim 7 times (blocks) per batch.
